Today is an exciting - and slightly nerve wracking day!

We are officially launching Statusflow.io.

Ribbon cut, champagne bottle smashed, other symbolic gestures to follow!

Why? What? How?

“Making status reporting 5x easier for the whole project team.”

Most change projects are bloody hard - that lovely plan that looked so straight forward on day 1 bares no resemblance to real life by day 3. Scope bends, priorities change, dates slip. The skill of project management isn’t religiously sticking to a plan - it’s managing around the challenges that come up to still achieve the outcomes.

Status reports are meant to be there to help us with this. A simple way to gather and share updates across teams and stakeholders. A communication tool to quickly focus everyone on the things they can and need to do to make sure outcomes are achieved - whatever gets in the way.

So why on so many projects have they instead become a manual, bureaucratic exercise in endlessly chasing team members, fiddling about with wording and sending reports off in the hope that a stakeholder somewhere might read them?

It annoyed me and Joel enough that we decided to do something about it!

We set out to build statusflow.io to help project teams focus on the ‘so what’ of status reporting - what action should we take, what help do we need - by taking over the process of gathering and creating updates.

We’ve kept it intentionally simple and built around 3 key features:

  • A familiar report builder format that looks and feels like the tools you use today
  • A mobile first experience. Personalised to each report contributor. Guiding them through exactly what update they need to provide
  • A single place for report creators to see all the updates to produce their final report

No bells and whistles, no complicated setup, no big learning curve.

And that’s why we’re excited that we can finally launch v1 of Statusflow today. We can’t wait to get it into the hands of project teams and make those projects that little bit less hard.

We’d be delighted to give you a whirl through our demo. You can pick a time that works for you here
