My side-hustle is Statusflow, a better way to do project status reporting. Three weeks in and we’re live! And even better, just over 500 people have already checked us out. Here’s what worked and what I learned this week…
In celebration of statusflow.io launching today, we’ve built a little status report update generator to help you with your status report update.
Today is an exciting - and slightly nerve wracking day! We are officially launching Statusflow.io. Ribbon cut, champagne bottle smashed, other symbolic gestures to follow! Why? What? How?
Just over 3 weeks ago, Will, Oyvind, Joel and I set ourselves a 30 day challenge to make status reporting 5x easier for project teams. Our aim has been to develop and market a SAAS product to do just that, before finding it a long term home with someone that wants to take it forwards and make it even more awesome! Earlier today we completed the first big step as we launched Statusflow.io. Here is part 3 of our Statusflow story on our plans now we’ve launched.
#BuildSell30 is a competition where a team has 30 days to build a tech company, reach £100/month in recurring revenue, and sell it on MicroAcquire.com to someone who would like to grow your product over the long term. It’s a great way to practice entrepreneurship, team building, and to “date” other founders before “getting married” by taking outside investment in a more meaningful project. This article will talk you through how we’ve done it so far — and the challenges along the way.
‘It’s really important we have status meetings so we all know where each other are and make sure we are linking up across the project.” I’ve lost track of the amount of times I’ve heard that statement. And yet, for all of the good intentions and commitments to make them more action orientated so many hours of project teams lives are wasted in these round robins - that may give the PM what they need but do little for everyone else.
Each week we'll be sharing our story of building Statusflow. This week is focused on the interviews and surveys we've conducted with over 50 people to find out what they would need in a solution to make status reporting 5x easier for them.
This is the first part of our Statusflow story - who we are and why we want to make status reporting 5x faster.
It’s Friday. You’ve finally got your status report over the line and out to your client. It’s been painful. Again. You’ve had to beat your team-mates into update submission. Again. This week, I asked my network what they hated most about status reporting.
